As one of the two current “hot topics” in the world of hearing healthcare (OTC hearing devices, anyone?), and for all of the research and available products available for assessment and treatment, tinnitus is still such an enigma. What works to alleviate symptoms in one patient does not mean it will work for another patient, and determining the site of lesion is still a yet to be fully realized dream. So many of our patients have tinnitus, and while we have all of these resources available at our fingertips, for a new provider or someone who has not worked with these patients extensively for a while navigating this sea of assessment procedures and technology can sometimes be daunting.
